Baby Story

Well, I know that it has been a while, but we have been kind of busy around here. Our new son arrived on his due date just like his brother. We actually went to the hospital Sunday night. We arrived at 10:40 pm and there were no beds available. One woman was waiting in the hall outside labor and delivery when I got there and another lady arrived shortly after I did. Both of them were on their first baby. Finally at midnight, I was ushered into the delivery room. My husband was kind enough to remind me that I did not want an epidural so we opted for the lowest pain killer possible-Nu vane. Apparently it is more of a "relaxer" and not exactly a pain killer. It did a nice job of making me relax and I was able to enjoy the pain so much more. At one point the nurse checked and I was at 6 cm, she then left. A few minutes later I felt the need to push and Justin felt the need to push the call button. A nurse came in, and upon finding out that I was at 10, she yelled for help. Because my water had not broken, they told me to breathe through the contractions while they tried to get the bed ready. Unfortunately, my water broke with the next contraction and along with the water came the baby. He was out in two pushes before the doctor even got there. Ransom James Peters was born at 1:48 am Monday morning. He did have some breathing problems the first day but is now home and doing great.
