My Grandpa passed away this morning. Please continue to pray.

Prayer Request

My Grandpa is very sick and is on hospice. It seems like he could go Home at any time. We are praying that it will be very quick since he is already in so much pain. I am thankful that God is sovereign in all things. Please pray for those in our extended family that do not know the Lord. I pray that God will work on their hearts during this time. Please pray especially for my Grandma. While this is an extremely hard time for her, she is still remaining an excellent example of what a Godly wife should be.

Thoughts from the Pew

Are we not so blessed to have the privilege to worship God freely in our country? This is one of those things that we don't really think about as we are rushing out the door just trying to make it to church on time.
For the past few weeks our pastor has been preaching on Biblical change. All of the sermons have been wonderful and hard hitting, but today was even more so. How long have I been satisfied with only a limited gospel? Why do I not see that the gospel should encompass my entire life? Everyday I need to remind myself that I am dead to sin and alive in Christ. I need not live like sin is governing my life.
Yes, the best way to do this is to study the Word everyday. For me, personally though, I need to be memorizing the Word. How can I fight the daily battle against sin unless I am armed with the right weapons?

Bouncing Bean

I had my first sonogram at 9 wks so the baby did not look like a baby at all. We thought that it looked more like a bean. Since then we have been calling the baby "Bean." (No, this is not an option for a real name. We are not that eccentric.)
Anyway, the kids have been wanting me to get on the trampoline for weeks now and I haven't quite felt up to it. Today I gave in and jumped for a little while. The kids of course thought this was great. Hero asked if Baby Bean liked to jump. I hope so.

Tea Snob

Peppermint tea is a pregnant woman's friend. The best, of course, is Stash tea. (It is made with Oregon peppermint.)

Swim fun

Today my kids were able to go swimming for the first time this year. I had a denist appointment so the kids went to Great Grandpa and Grandma's for a while. I told the kids that they could take their new swimsuits but I told them not to get their hopes up. I didn't know how cold the pool would be. Apparently it was just fine because when I came back they were still splishing and splashing.

To Mulch or Not to Mulch?

Well, I decided to mulch. Since I have never done this before, I was not quite sure how much I needed. On our fun-filled trip to Walmart today, I picked up two huge bags of the cheapest stuff I could find. I thought that surely that would be enough. It only covered about half of the area and I spread it as thin as I could. So I won't be showing you any pics of my finished project anytime soon. Oh well, I had plenty of time to mow the back lawn this afternoon. On Thursday I can toss some weed 'n feed stuff on it and watch those dandelions suffer.

Jericho's new habit of smiling for pictures is to say "cheese" and close his eyes.

Tonight we had a Good Friday service in which we partook of the Lord's Supper. Hero was sitting between Justin and I and she was told that she was not allowed to take part. When we came home we were discussing the service. Hero mentioned that she was glad she didn't have to have some. Then she asked, "Did the blood taste yummy?" At least she was paying attention. (Yes, we did explain to her that it was just juice.)

Rain and Pain

We are supposed to have rain today, for which I am very glad.
The gas prices are supposed to go up, for which I am very sad.
(I paid 2.97 for gas at DQ yesterday. Needless to say I did not fill it up all the way. I'm hoping Valero is still at 2.80. Yes, that is regular not the premium stuff.)

Where's My Title

I am a little annoyed that my title is not showing up for the last entry yesterday. I can see it briefly for a moment when I refresh the page but then it disappear. What is going on?

Hero helps Mommy make a jello cake. She liked poking holes in the top, but she didn't want to have to wait till tonight to eat it.

I have been contemplating a switch in blogsights and finally decided to do it. The deciding factor was the image capabilities. I like to post pictures of my beautiful kids and xanga limits how many pics you can post per month. This is not for me.
